During the job search, every job seeker will be confronted with a seemingly obvious question. This is a question that does not appear to merit an answer. When interviewers ask, “why do you want to join our company?” They’re trying to figure out if you’d fit in at the company and if you’d add value to their current team.
Employees who are engaged with the company’s mission and values are more productive and stay with the company longer. The hiring manager is attempting to determine whether or not that person is you.
You might be worried about how to respond to the question, “why do you want to join our company?” You never want to respond to this question with something as simple as, “Well, the pay is good, and I need a job.”
While this is correct, you are not giving yourself a fair chance.
You must demonstrate that you have researched the company, that your core values align with the company’s objectives, and that you will enjoy working there.
